Nutrition in Ethiopia is on a roll!

Nearly 200 participants registered for the Together for Nutrition (T4N) conference in Addis Ababa last week. A collaboration between IFPRI’s Ethiopia Strategy Support Programme, POSHAN and Transform Nutrition, this is the second Together for Nutrition conference that follows the success of the October 2014 event in New Delhi. Mara van den Bold, IFPRI, blogs about day 2 at ‘Together for nutrition’ which included a key note by Satish Agnihotri from the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India and POSHAN release a new series of 9 short publications on the ‘Implementation of innovations to improve nutrition in India.

 

 

Why we need to work ‘Together for Nutrition’

Stuart Gillespie, CEO of Transform Nutrition reflects on the “spectrum of collaboration options available” on day 1 of the ‘Together for Nutrition 2014’ conference in Delhi which is jointly supported by Transform Nutrition and POSHAN.

“We have had a great first day, with a lot of energy and a richness and diversity in the experiences of “coming together for nutrition” in different states, and at different levels (from policy down to block-level convergence). Everyone who registered for this conference believes that undernutrition is a neglected but crucially important issue, and that it is multifaceted in causation, requiring multisectoral approaches in response.

Together for Nutrition 2014 is fast approaching

The Together for Nutrition 2014: Working Across Sectors to Improve Nutrition in India conference will soon be upon us, October 29-30, in New Delhi . POSHAN and Transform Nutrition have been working hard to ensure the conference is informative and captivating. A call for abstracts led to 70 submissions and the best have been invited to present. Around 250-300 people are expected. The conference will serve as an important platform for learning and facilitating discussion around the challenging task of bringing diverse sectors together to improve maternal and child nutrition in India.  See here for a sneak preview of our exciting agenda.

Transform Nutrition and POSHAN are pleased to announce the conference Together for Nutrition 2014: Working Across Sectors to Improve Nutrition in India, which will be held October 29–30, 2014, in New Delhi, India. The conference is intended to bring together evidence that can inform and support current policy and program initiatives for nutrition that require cross-sectoral action by two or more sectors. You are invited to submit either implementation abstracts or research abstracts of your work to be presented at the conference by 25th April 2014.
