Lawrence Haddad

Lawrence Haddad played a pivotal role to get the Transform Nutrition research programme off the ground.

Lawrence Haddad, Director of IDS and author of Development Horizons blog

Lawrence Haddad is a Senior Research Fellow of the International Food Policy Research Institute and co-Chair of the Global Nutrition Report Independent Expert Group. He was formerly the Director of the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex from 2004-2014. Previously he was Director of the International Food Policy Research Institute’s Food Consumption and Nutrition Division and Lecturer in Development Economics at the University of Warwick. He is an economist and his main research interests are at the intersection of poverty, food insecurity and malnutrition. His field research has been in the Philippines, India and South Africa. He has a PhD from Stanford University.

Lawrence Haddad provides strategic input to the Steering Committee, contributes to the Transform Nutrition short courses and is an active member of the Pillar 3 research team.
